Join me for a series of 3 Watercolour classes on the subject of 'Discovering Sketchbooks.'
Keeping a sketchbook is a great way of collecting images, practicing our style and trying out new things. They are a way of exploring and testing. Over 3 sessions we will look at different ways of keeping sketchbooks and the use of watercolours within the sketchbook.
I encourage painters of all levels to join these classes. But the beginner sessions would be perfect if you are looking to do an individual class.
Week 1: 10th June - Uses of Watercolour in Your Sketchbook. (Beginner level). Together we try out some different sketchbook exercises using watercolours and other sketching materials. To help inspire and start creating regular time to use your sketchbook at home.
Week 2: 24th June - Line & Wash. We will explore using pen in our sketchbooks. A quick and versatile way of getting down an image while out and about. We will add watercolour washes to our work, to add depth and colour.
Week 3: 8th July - 'En Plein Air' - Sketching in Astwood Village. In this final session we will explore and record Astwood within our sketchbooks and look at creating our own 'travel kit' of materials. We will finish up at the pub for a drink!
My recommended sketchbook will be available to buy separately for this module, or you are welcome to bring along your own.
All other materials will all be provided but please feel free to bring in your own if you would rather.
The sessions will run alternate weeks. This will give you a chance to practice in between our meet ups, should you wish.
